This is a SUPER RARE version of this amp. The tube configuration is different than any other Kay 703 or 803 I've seen with one exception. There was one listed on Reverb 7 years ago that had the same tubes as this one but the person listed them as the same typical 703 and 803. You can tell the difference because there's a cap can in the middle and the tubes are larger.Check out my other listings. Note: I'm including a spare set of GE and RCA tubes to sweeten the deal.
You may never find another Kay 703 in this condition. This is a KAY tube amplifier in Exceptional Condition. It turns on and sounds excellent. No scratchy pots, idles quiet. I bought it in this pristine condition. Somehow it works like new, even with the original electrolytics. I always spend a little extra to get near mint gear is why I get so lucky. This lightweight amp is not going to burn the house down but does sound GREAT! With a single coil guitar, the tone is clean until you get past 8 on the volume dial.
It breaks up a bit earlier with a humbucker or P-90, after you get past 6-7 on the volume dial. Old electronics can fail at any time. I also have a set of vintage tubes for this amp. Contact me to discuss or if you want more pics, etc.
